Celebrity chef recruitment firm wins funding for growth

A Manchester-based business which recruits chefs for some of the world’s best restaurants has received an investment from The North West Fund for Venture Capital, managed by Enterprise Ventures.

Regent Recruitment’s clients include some of London’s most iconic restaurants including The Savoy, The Ritz, The Dorchester, St James’s Club, Pollen Street Social and Rex Restaurants which operate The Wolseley and The Delaunay, as well as international names such as the Burj Al-Arab in Dubai and the Taj Group in India. The company also works directly with top-class hospitality executives, helping them to negotiate their next move and build their career in the international marketplace.

Established in 1997 by Veena Hira, Regent Recruitment operates from offices in Manchester and London. As part of the investment, Sue Craven – who built and subsequently sold the executive search firm Armstrong Craven – has joined the business as a Non-Executive Director.

Regent Recruitment will use the funding to invest in marketing and infrastructure and build its client base.

Richard Young of Enterprise Ventures, which manages The North West Fund for Venture Capital, said: “Regent Recruitment has built great brand loyalty in its specialist field and has a deep network of contacts. We share Veena’s excitement about the opportunity to grow the business, both in the UK and internationally.”

The North West fund for Venture Capital is part of The £155m North West Fund, which is financed jointly by the European regional Development Fund and the European Investment Bank.
